Welcome to Tammys Haven
Let me tell you a little bit about myself, I love to draw, paint, and
just create. I guess my creative talent comes from my dad. As a
child I discovered he could draw anything.
I took Fine Arts in high school, Norwich Free Academy in Norwich
CT, where the opportunity often arises to draw the hundred and
fifty year old buildings and the surrounding architecture, NFA
houses its own museum on campus, The Slater Memorial
Museum, as part of the art programs at the academy I was able
to have my works constantly displayed for the public.

I worked as a Graphic Artist for a company known as M. S. Chambers. In my six years there I designed wallpaper
for companies such as Waverly. I often donated my talents to non-profit organizations such as The Ministry of
the Handicapped of the Diocese of Norwich, for whom I designed a line of greeting cards. I also designed a book
cover and illustrations for a publisher known as Scarlet Robe Creations.
I Love animals and my husband Bill and I share our lives with our dog Angel and our cat China Doll. Painting
animals allows me to combine two loves of mine into one creation and to discover one of the many reasons for
walking this earth.
This calling started out as a way to give special gifts to family and friends who had recently
experienced the loss of a pet. The calling has grown tremendously. In the past year I've painted not
only dogs and cats, but horses and rabbits. Some paintings are memorials and some are portraits
of animals still living, Still, with out exception, every painting becomes a part of me, whether I've met
your pet or not.
I believe that animals are a big part of our lives. We remember our deeply loved family members
with stones to commemorate their being among us. I believe we should do this for the animals we
love.
My memorials have been viewed at various shows around Southeastern Connecticut. Some of
those displays have been at "Forgotten Angels" an animal shelter, Dog-a-Riffic,sponsored by 4
Paws and an adoption day sponsored by Montville dog pound.

one pet lover to another.
